PulStar Technology

Living Well Chiropractic Clinic offers computerized analysis and adjustments through the PulStar system. We are the only chiropractic office in North Central Kansas to offer computerized adjustments. Many of our patients travel 90 miles or more to our office to enjoy the benefits of this technology.

Gentle Chiropractic Treatment

The PulStar system both analyzes the stiffness of each joint and administers the precise amount of force needed to adjust individual vertebra. It is more gentle than some other methods of chiropractic care, with no twisting, popping, or jerking movements. PulStar chiropractic adjustments are gentle enough for patients of any age.

It can be helpful for patients who have spinal injuries, whiplash, joint fusions, osteoporosis, degenerative arthritis, and other conditions. The PulStar provides hope for the hopeless. Dr. Wilcox will only accept cases he sincerely believes can benefit from the PulStar technology.

What is a PulStar Session?

A typical PulStar session is demonstrated in the video above. Patients sit, stand or lay prone during treatments. Dr. Wilcox runs the PulStar instrument down your spine, analyzing each joint for function and stiffness. The instrument sends readings to the computer program, which displays precise data in an easy-to-read graph. Dr. Wilcox uses this information to help determine the most important area(s) to adjust.

Then Dr. Wilcox uses the instrument again, this time focusing on problem areas.

The PulStar delivers a series of precise, computer-controlled, gentle impulses to free up joint fixations, relieve muscle spasms, and restore normal joint function. Areas of the spine that could not easily be treated by hand can be easily treated by the computerized instrument. Patients do not tighten up muscles anticipating the adjustment because the instrument is gentle and precise. Immediately following the treatment, Dr. Wilcox analyzes each vertebrae again, and you can see your percent of improvement on the monitor for yourself. The PulStar provides certainty that you needed the care and that you benefited from the care each visit. This is especially important for spinal areas that no longer hurt but are not yet back to normal function. The PulStar’s computerized analysis is accurate in locating fixated, stuck joints. Spinal Traction

Spinal Traction

Non-surgical spinal traction is used to treat disc injuries in the back. This treatment option is very safe and utilizes equipment to apply distraction forces to spinal structures. Spinal treatment is effective on specific levels of the spine (or several levels) because the treatment is targeted to the problem areas. Over a series of visit, traction promotes the diffusion of water, oxygen and nutrient-rich fluids from the outside of the disc to the inside, this allows disc fibers to heal.

Traction therapy gently separates the vertebrae from each other. This can reduce the pressure from bulging or herniated discs. Traction therapy offers relief for:

  • Bulging / Herniated disc

  • Pinched nerves

  • Radiating arm pain

  • Degenerative disc

  • Leg pain (Sciatica)

  • Failed surgery

You may be able to avoid spinal injections and back surgery with our affordable, pain free, spinal treatment services when combined with the other methods used in our office.

Spinal treatment is effective for several different pain conditions, including:

  • Bulging / Herniated disc
  • Pinched nerves
  • Degenerative disc
  • Leg pain (Sciatica)
  • Failed surgery
  • Radiating arm pain

Laser Therapy

Laser Therapy

Do you suffer from any of these painful conditions?
  • Back Pain
  • Neck Pain
  • Shoulder Pain
  • Arm or Leg Pain
  • Arthritis
  • Joint Pain
Throughout the World, laser therapy is used to treat acute/chronic pain, arthritis and stiffness all by working naturally.
  • Drug-Free
  • Non-Invasive
  • Side-Effect Free
  • Controls Inflammation
  • Accelerates pain relief
  • Safe and effective
  • Pain-Free Treatment
  • Why is laser therapy effective?

Laser therapy uses specific laser light energy to target damaged tissues. By working at the cellular level, it is able to stimulate metabolism in the cell. This helps to encourage repair and growth while decreasing inflammation and pain and preventing scar tissue. Laser therapy can be combined with PulStar and other treatment methods to produce significant results that help accelerate and pain relief recovery. The procedure takes about five to 15 minutes.

  • Does laser therapy hurt?

Laser therapy is not painful. Patients will experience no or very mild sensation, which usually manifests in a warmth or tingling feeling.

  • Are there any side effects or risks?

There are very few side effects associated with laser therapy, unless you are allergic to the laser, in which case you may experience a rash or blister that will go away in a few days. Once in a while, a patient may experience discomfort for a few days due to stimulation of old injuries or conditions.

  • How often should patients receive laser therapy?

Patients with more minor injuries should receive one to six treatments, while those with more chronic, severe conditions may require 10-15 or even more treatments. Chronic conditions are best relieved by receiving laser treatment two to three times a week at first, then reduction to once a week or every other week once the patient begins to feel relief.

  • How many treatments does a patient need to experience improvement?

You may experience decreased pain after the first treatment. However, it may require a few sessions before you feel the difference.

  • Can laser treatment be combined with other treatment?

Yes. Laser therapy can be utilized along with other chiropractic treatments, including adjustments, physical therapy, electrotherapy, and more. By combining laser with other methods, recovery speed and level of pain relief are increased.

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy – This type of therapy, also known as BEMER, increases circulation at the capillary level of the vascular system. This is where the majority of nutrient and waste exchange happens within the body. PEMF is an effective option for many vascular conditions such as peripheral neuropathy associated with diabetes.
